Request deletion of your personal data and account information from StudyTyme

Important: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please read all information below carefully before proceeding.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request data deletion, the following information will be permanently removed from our systems:

Personal Information

  • Name and email address
  • Profile information
  • Account preferences
  • Contact information
  • Profile picture

Learning Data

  • Course progress and completion
  • Certificates earned
  • Quiz and assignment submissions
  • Learning history and analytics
  • Bookmarks and favorites

Activity Data

  • Login history
  • Device information
  • Usage patterns
  • Comments and discussions
  • Support tickets

Financial Data

  • Transaction history
  • Payment information*
  • Billing addresses
  • Refund records
  • Subscription details

*Payment details are handled by secure third-party processors

Data Deletion Timeline

Immediate (0-24 hours)

Your account will be deactivated and you will no longer be able to access StudyTyme services.

Within 7 days

Personal information will be removed from active systems and databases. Your profile and learning data will be permanently deleted.

Within 30 days

All data will be removed from backup systems and archives. Complete deletion process will be finished.

90 days (Legal retention)

Some financial and legal records may be retained for 90 days as required by law, then permanently deleted.

Data That May Be Retained

For legal, security, or operational reasons, certain data may be retained even after deletion:

Anonymized Analytics Data

Usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you personally may be retained for platform improvement.

Legal Compliance Records

Information required by law (tax records, fraud prevention) may be retained as legally mandated.

Security Logs

System security logs may be retained for up to 1 year for security and fraud prevention purposes.

How to Request Data Deletion

Option 1: Self-Service (Recommended)

You can request data deletion directly from your account settings:

  1. Log in to your StudyTyme account
  2. Go to Account Settings → Privacy & Security
  3. Click "Delete My Account and Data"
  4. Follow the confirmation process
  5. Verify deletion via email confirmation

Option 2: Email Request

Send a deletion request to our privacy team:

Subject: Data Deletion Request

Include: Your full name, email address, and account username (if different)

Important Considerations

Active Subscriptions: Cancel any active subscriptions before requesting deletion to avoid being charged.
Downloaded Content: Any course materials you've downloaded will not be automatically deleted from your devices.
Third-Party Services: Data shared with third-party integrations may need to be deleted separately.
Certificates: Earned certificates will be revoked and can no longer be verified after deletion.

Alternatives to Full Deletion

Before requesting full deletion, consider these alternatives:

Account Deactivation

Temporarily disable your account while keeping your data for potential future reactivation.

Data Download

Export your learning data, certificates, and course progress before deletion.

Privacy Settings

Adjust privacy settings to limit data collection while keeping your account active.

Selective Deletion

Delete specific types of data (like comments or progress) while keeping your account.
